MHA Village's Homeless Assistance Program (HAP) offers three unique services to the homeless population of Long Beach: Street Outreach & Engagement, Drop-In Center, & Case Management. HAP specializes in serving people who don't have access to other services and the goal of all HAP services is to connect people to longer term homeless and mental health services. HAP is not a residential program and all services are individualized depending on an individual's need and ability to meet our funding criteria. For more information, please read on, view our HAP FAQs, and/or visit HAP during the Drop-in Center hours.

Outreach workers are available six days a week, bringing services to the homeless in the Long Beach community. We work at the pace of the homeless individual offering the services they choose & desire. The goal of outreach is engagement; in order to build a trusting relationship between the outreach worker and person's living on the street. We are not a psychiatric intervention or crisis response team. If an intervention or crisis response team is needed, contact the Long Beach Police Department and asked for the Mental Evaluation Team (MET).
We respond to requests from:

Not usually. Most opportunities to do additional work are given to members as an opportunity to promote the benefit of employment for recovery.
