MHA Village is proud to be a member of our Long Beach community. A program of Mental Health America of Los Angeles, which was founded in 1924 and is one of Los Angeles County’s oldest nonprofit mental health organizations, MHA Village has been providing mental health care since 1990. Strong partnerships with the City of Long Beach and Los Angeles County have allowed the MHA Village services to grow and thrive into an internationally recognized program that is shaping the transformation of mental health care worldwide. From the corner of Fifth and Elm in downtown Long Beach, our historical building stands tall as a symbol of hope and recovery for the community. Please visit the History page for more information about the history of our program and our role in the Long Beach community.
A core value of MHA Village is community integration, and our goal is for the members of MHA Village and all citizens of Long Beach to be accepted, supported, and appreciated by their community. We proudly support a variety of community organizations like We Love Long Beach and partner with community groups at Long Beach City College, California State University, Long Beach, and others.
MHA Village is the recipient of many prestigious awards including the American Psychiatric Association’s Gold Achievement Award, its highest distinction for community programs. Proposition 63, which passed in 2004 and is now the Mental Health Services Act, is based on the recovery model practiced at the MHA Village. Please visit the Awards & Honors page for more information about recognitions received by MHA Village.
“the village will help you put your life in order. they’ll help you find yourself.
